The design of many of our most treasured British Country Houses so often reflects a classic style all of its own, often restrained, understated, subtle and elegant. These are the characteristics that our Eden Manor traditional kitchens tries to achieve for our clients country homes. This look can be achieved by the careful design and manufacture of what we produce, such as period mouldings, the width of door frames and the proportion of our furniture.
Top off this design with a stunning piece of granite, marble or even solid wood and this effectively transforms the whole look of the kitchen. To then really replicate the classical look why not use some Honed Carrara Marble worktops as an understated background to a beautiful kitchen. In Georgian and Edwardian architecture Carrara was the marble of choice and was seen in many of the finest country houses in England such as Chatsworth house. Being luxurious without being opulent and 'not considered vulgar' due to its understated veining. A comment we smile at today but was of real importance in its day. Even Marble Arch is build from Carrara marble. The look of a handcrafted fine English painted kitchen is the epitome of fine design, this can be hand-painted to any colour, and yes I mean hand-painted. Leaving very fine barely distinguishable brush marks, carefully applied with just enough of a coating to let the grain show through. The beauty of this is that if you become bored of the colour or in years time there are wear marks it can be re-coated to bring it back to its former glory a truly timeless elegant bespoke kitchen design.
