Most of the oak used for our furniture making comes from Europe, and mainly from France. Whilst the British have tended to view the oak tree as a natural and much loved symbol of our landscape and a crop that belonged to the age of wooden ships, countries like France have continued to farm oak as a commercial crop and to manage its planting, growth and harvesting for use in the timber industry.
This dedication to husbandry ensures that we will be able to enjoy oak as a wonderful raw, hardworking and versatile material for many years to come. As such wherever possible we only use timber that comes from timber yards that are PEFC and FCS sustainable timber sources. Components are made from raw stock then assembled and made into beautiful furniture pieces. Everything is then hand finished in our workshops usually with a final decoration on site, creating furniture which should last a lifetime with proper care. |
All our modern materials such as our painted, metallic and concrete doors are sourced from the top manufacturers right across Europe, we then fit these to our own carcasses using only the best materials available. Using only top quality runners and hinges - No compromise is ever made on quality in this way we can create a totally unique product in a style that will last for many years to come. We only use suppliers that can fit in with our own ethos of 'any size' creating a bespoke solution for your home.
